Brink Beasts are formidable, unknown beings that vaguely resemble canines, with no discernible face on their heads. Their only feature is a large crystal growth on the forehead. Despite their size, these creatures were one of the most threatening enemies found in the Brink, as well as the most common.
Physiology[]
Brink Beasts are canine like beasts of pure Brink Crystal, with a noticeable growth extending from their foreheads. Their bodies are a Quintessence level crystal structure that both resembles a metal alloy and a crystalline structure. Their strength is rather frightening as despite their size, once they grasped a man, they could shake them like a ragdoll.
These beings are a form of stabilized energy, and are one of Apothis' original creations. They have deceptively large jaws, akin to a snake, they can dislocate them to swallow beings far larger than normally physically possible.
Abilities[]
Brink Beasts were feared for many reasons, among them, their infamous Death Howl, a sound so horrid, death was often instantaneous. They also possess vast psychic powers, noted for causing irreversible damage to even high level beings who tried to access their 'minds'.
Their favored tactic was knocking down enemies, then proceeding to mangle and devour their prey, this could be done with physical force or through psychic blasts. They also had the ability to discharge intense bursts of Brink energy, often enough to leave someone fatally wounded.
Current Status[]
Brink Beasts are thankfully rare in the modern age, driven to obscurity in the Far Realm and obscure locations like the World Scar. They are extremely few in number, but lack any form of hivemind like during the Brink Saga.
